Easy Red (CC)

Easy Red was a heavily fortified eastern sector of Omaha Beach during the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944. Assaulted by the US 1st Infantry Division ("Big Red One") and 16th Infantry Regiment, it saw intense combat at 0700 hours and faced massive casualties due to intense German fire from bluffs overlooking the landing area.
